A Day w/out My Car

Yesterday, I thought I would try to get around town without using my car since it takes almost $50- to fill up these days. I road my bike to work which is about a mile, I get off work about 4:30 and from downtown to the gym 8 miles, Did a 1 hr. Body Pump class.

Body Pump is like a high energy aerobics class with bar bell weights that hits all the muscle groups in 10 songs. Its great for core strength and toning, Not so good for getting big, but you can adjust the weights to your level. I enjoy it because it breaks up the routine of working out by yourself, It hits the muscle groups that I usually don't hit as well like squats and hams, plus 80% of the class are women : )

Designed to "tone and condition muscles while raising metabolic rate for rapid fat-burning," Body Pump is supposed to be proven to be "the world's fastest way to get in shape." created by Les Mills

The class ended about 6:30, I hop on my bike and ride over to my parents for dinner which is another 2 miles and another 2 miles back to the gym to meet my friend Peter at 7:30 for a 1 hr. swim.

1 mile - 2 work (10 min.)
8 miles - 2 gym (30 min.)
1 hr. Body Pump class
2 miles - parents house (10 min.)
2 miles - 2 gym (10 min.)
1 hr. Swim (50 laps)
Total: 13 miles + 2 hr workout = exhausted and sore Darren

Julias comment .... Suck it Up!

I know, I know I'm weak. I had to have Peter peal me off the street last night and give me a ride home.
