Hey Folks,
Thanks for all your support and word of encouragement. Let me first start off by saying praise the Lord for the beautiful weather and racing conditions. Thank you for those that participated and thank god for giving me the strength and endurance to finish the race without injury.
I woke up about 5:30 am, drank a glass of water and ate a cliff bar. Changed into my tri-shorts and shirt. Finished packing the rest of my gear and put it in the car along with my bike. Double checked my checklist and I left my place at 6:20, Drinking half a protein shake along the way. I arrived at the race venue in Granite bay at 7 am, pulled my bike off my car and headed to the transition area to get a good spot on the rack. I set up my transition spot by laying out a towel, bike and running gear. Then I checked in and got marked up with my race number on my hands, arms, and legs.
8 am start my warm up, I put all my bike gear on and head out for a warm up ride, making sure I check my breaks and gear shifting. making sure there is enough tire pressure and that things are running smoothly. After that I go for a little run to check out the course to see what I will be facing ..... I make one last pit stop to use the bathroom, before I put on my wetsuit and get acclimated to the water. I apply some lubricant all over so that the wetsuit will be easier to take off in transition. Finish the protein shake. 8:35 head down to the beach. Surprising, the water has gotten warmer a couple of degrees from 52-56 degrees. I warm up for about 10 min. before we huddle on the beach for directions at the start position.
2B continued ......
