My Sisters Wedding(1)

Congratulations to Dean & Debra Balagtas!
What can I say but a beautiful wedding for a beautiful bride and groom.

Thursday ~ night flight out of Sacramento @ 7 pm. I want to thank Ruth & Wayne for providing parking & transportation for the wknd. We had a transfer in Phoenix, Az which was delayed due to landing gear hydraulic problems and had to switch planes. We arrived in San Diego close to mid-night. My parents and grandparents had rented a cute condo on the beach in Mission bay which Julia and I took full advantage of in getting decorating ideas.

Friday ~ I got up early and was able to run along the beach after breakfast, jumped in the shower and headed off to try on the tuxedo's with some of the groomsmen and Ding(Dean's father). It was a disappointing experience for my brother-in-law, Dean had to be fitted twice and they still managed to mess up his shoe size. The best man's coat sleeves were to short and his pants were to long and they both had to go in the next day to pick up there alterations. As for me I got lucky and everything fit just fine, but of course I will be using the same measurements for all of the 4 weddings that I will be in this year.

After the fittings, we had lunch at a convenient Japanese restaurant called "SanSai" I had the curry chicken w/ a side of cucumber salad. After lunch we headed back to my sisters place to relax and unwind before the wedding rehearsal @ 5 pm. One thing that I liked was that the wedding & reception was at the same location on Coronado island at the Marriott Hotel right on the bay.

The rehearsal dinner was on Convoy Blvd. at the " Empress Chinese Restaurant" and was hosted by Dean's father. They had the traditional 9 course wedding feast and my favorite dish was the beef and mushroom, the beef was really tender and it had a tasty sauce. Julia, of course enjoyed the desert mango jello. We ended the night with our bellies full and tired from the long day.
