It's the Last wedding of the summer for me and I would have to say one of the funnest. My friend and cycling companion Mark and his organic chef Tracey got hitched last weekend in Berkeley. It was the first wedding that I have been in that featured a full worship team with electric guitar and drums.

Reception dinner was in Berkeley on Gilman street at Pyramid Ale House, when I first heard this I thought "Fish & Chips, Baby!" It turns out that it was a pre-set buffet: vegetarian pizza, mixed steamed vegetables, pork, chicken, and a wild salad. A open bar was displayed to try there various home brews, the evening started first with dinner and then we moved on to the rehearsal.
The Saint Presbyterian Church was not too far away and it was really a beautiful church made of wood that made it look like it could have been built in a red wood forest. As a music team member the things I notice was that the stage wasn't cleared when we arrived which was supposed to be and we had sound difficulties during rehearsal. We were supposed to have a native sound tech to help us out, but he didn't arrive till the next day and it felt like we had to setup everything ourselves, bring our own amps, mics, stands, and monitors. There was a lack of outlets so we had to be creative, Thank the Lord for wireless mics.
After the rehearsal some of us were still hungry so we ventured out near the Berkeley campus to sample the local student fare. Recommended by Asa (Drummer Boy) we went to a little food court area on Durant, It brought back memories of being a student staying up late and grabbing a late night snacking. We decided on a little ramen house called "Bear Ramen" it was a tiny dining establishment that served delicious hot bowls of ramen soup. I had the black bean Ja Ja mein and Julia had the Kim che ramen soup it was decent by college food standards, but because we were all so hungry it really hit the spot.

I taught Julia a few chords to practice on the bass. (Better is One Day)
They had a awesome ceremony program that featured descriptions of the wedding party, those involved in the wedding planning, and how God has worked in there lives. It also included a cool cross word puzzle and short articles of those that have impacted there lives leading to this point.
The reception was held in Oakland china town at a Chinese restaurant called "Peony Restaurant" we had the usual nine course meal which was good, but nothing really stood out to me except for the dessert. Instead of a traditional wedding cake they had all types of pie (banana cream, apple, mixed berry, blue berry, coconut cream, and peach) I had to try them all and they were all delicious.
Congratulations Mark & Tracey Chin!
