Shamrock 09

GoSTC! Sarah, Pam, Darren
This year our MoM group (Jon, Pete, Jerry, Nick, and I) ran the Shamrock 13.1 mile race in West Sacramento on Sunday, March 15th. Weather this year was a little chilly and overcast, but the rain held off for the better part of the morning.

One of the things that I learned from last year was make sure you stay hydrated during the race. I try to grab some water or powerade at each station because last year I cramped up that last couple of miles. I also took a suppliment called Endurolyte created by Hammer products which is a time released capsul to help retain sodium and electrolytes. You are supposed to take it every hour, but I just took one before the race. It worked beautifully and I didn't cramp up once and actually sprinted the last hundred yard to the finish line to beat my Personal Record (PR) by a little over a minute.
