I had a pretty "rough schedule" the past week, working in the Budget Shop for the State can take a toll on you mentally and physically when working long hours under the gun. I was only able to work out 3 times during the week which is low for me and it reminded me of my priorities and how exercise effects my mood.
When I was working as a personal trainer I remember speaking with one of my clients and asked how her exercise was going. Her response was, "it's been a rough week."
Have you noticed that just about every week is a "rough week"? By that I mean that things just don't happen exactly as you'd like them to. A variety of circumstances affect your schedule and your available time. With that in mind, if you're going to exercise on a regular basis, exercise has to be high enough on your priority list to survive the "rough weeks."
For example, during "rough weeks" do you eat, sleep, and brush your teeth every day? Of course you do, because they are priorities in your life. If exercise is important enough to you then put it high on your priority list. Make your exercise "rough week" proof.
Here are three ideas that can change your life:
1. Block out the same time period everyday for exercise. This makes it a priority in your life. You're declaring that this period of time is prioritized for exercise. Don't let anything change that.
2. Keep some type of record of what you do. This helps people to make exercise a priority. Even if you just jot down how many minutes you exercise every day. Step back and look at the big picture. Regular exercise is not only important for your health, fitness, and weight loss now, but also for the rest of your life. Don't struggle with trying to exercise consistently for the rest of your life.
3. Make exercise an absolute priority now.
How important is your health? What quality of life would you have without it? It definitely makes you feels good and puts me in a good mood =)
